Bayonet Head, Oyster Harbour and Lower King can all be reached from Albany via Collingwood or Ulster Rd into Lower King Road.
Bayonet Head and Lower King are served by Town Bus Route 804, a limited service circular route between Peels Place/York Street in Albany, past the hospital, and round as far as Lower King Post Office.
This bus service was begun in 2000/1 by Love's, following pressure from this Progress Association.
Swan Transit now operate the Town Bus Services as 'TransAlbany', for the W.A. Public Transport Authority.

Flinders Park Primary – Yatana Drive, Bayonet Head
Albany Senior High - is the senior school for our catchment area.
There are a dozen or so other primary schools in and around Albany, plus North Albany Senior High, a large TAFE, and branches of UWA and Edith Cowan universities.
There are also several private schools, including Great Southern Grammar in Lower King/Kalgan.
SHOPPING:
There are General Stores in Lower King and Bayonet Head. Both have a public phone, a service station, and a liquor store attached.
Lower King General Store is also a Post Office, with bill-pay/banking facility.
Oyster Harbour General Store in Bayonet Head has an ATM and mail-box, and a local fresh-market in the car-park on Wednesdays.
The new Bayonet Head Shopping Centre has been open for a couple of years now, though due to various issues between Bayonet Head Centre management (9844 9487) and Albany Council over non-compliance, only Woolworths were originally trading there.
Apart from the Pharmacy and Newsagent (Bayonet Head News & Gifts - 9844 9090) and various pop-ups, unfortunately most of the stores remain empty.
Online shopping is available through Woolworths, who deliver here 3 times a week from their Brooks Garden store.
CHEMIST
Terry White Chemart (98449615) now operates an excellent service from Bayonet Head Shopping Centre.
HEALTH:
Albany Community Care and Silver Chain provide Seniors, and others in need, with in-home assistance to facilitate independent living - physio, transport, gardening, home care, etc.
Hospital - the new Albany Health Campus is in Spencer Park, a short drive away.

Water is piped from bores in the Two Peoples Bay area, over Lower King bridge, along Lower King Road and through into Albany. Water can develop a slight deposit - contact the Water Corporation on Lower Stirling Terrace, Albany (9420 2420), and they will blow out the lines to remedy this.
Every house in the new suburb of Oyster Harbour has a rainwater tank attached, which acts as a soak-well for storm-water.
SEWERAGE:
Lower King is not on deep sewerage, or piped gas.
RUBBISH:
Collections by Cleanaway trucks, every FRIDAY - rubbish is taken to the Waste Transfer Station on Hanrahan Road, Albany.

The firefighting fleet consists of 34 fire appliances: 11 fast attacks, 23 heavy duties and an incident control van, plus the resources of the City of Albany if necessary. Aerial support is available from two water bombers based at Albany Regional Airport, which cover Albany and surrounding local government areas.

The Oyster Harbour land development is a joint venture between Heath Development Company and the WA Housing Authority, creating the largest single residential land construction in the Great Southern. the

- Recycling - green bin, yellow or green lid - fortnightly collection.
- Green waste - green bin, bright green lid - monthly collection.
- annual ‘big rubbish collection’ for items like TVs, white-goods, etc. will become bi-annual from 2018 (Electronics were recycled by the Activ Foundation in Albany, but this has become uneconomical due to lack of volume).
- annual green waste collection for branches etc will now become bi-annual, from 2018 - green waste is made into mulch, and used by the Albany City Council for verges etc.
- one general and one green-waste Tip Pass with annual rates, for a free trailer visit to the tip if necessary.
- any further tip visits are charged at the current rate
