Brian Abbott - there was once a golf course on lower king road at what is now Rutherford Road...
We used to live on Lower King Road opposite what is now Leanda Estate, then in 1967 we moved to the corner of Hooper road.
Hooper road was named after Billy Hooper who had a dairy there just off Lower King road.
I remember when the bridge on Lower King Road (then tourist road) over Yakamia creek used to go straight to the bottom of hill then a right hand turn to go up the hill. I found one of the old pylons there not long ago with the bridge strap still attached
Glenys Nottle - We built our first house in 1978 and it was on the golf course that was there, the Elizabeth Street end close to Lower King Rd. In the late '60's what is now Ulster Rd. which then linked up to Lower King Rd. was sand.

- Hooper Road runs west from the new Oyster Harbour roundabout on Lower King Road, across to Chesterpass.
- Leanda Estate is on the hill overlooking Yakamia Creek/bridge, heading north - just before the Bayonet Head roundabout.
